Aaron Woodfin
Aaron was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Riverview High School in Riverview, FL in 2000. After graduation, he attended the University of South Florida where he received a B.S. in Music Education. Aaron now lives in Lithia, FL with his wife, Laura and their son and daughter Noah and Cadence and is the Director of Instrumental Music for Dr. Earl J. Lennard High School. He was the band director at Lecanto High School from 2006 - 2016. He was a part of the East Bay and Riverview high School Marching Band studying percussion. He went on to instruct and write for the Riverview High School Band percussion section from 2000-2005. For five years, he studied percussion at USF participating in the marimba band and the USF percussion ensemble resulting in recordings in numerous national albums for new music and a performance for the Georgia Bandmasters Association in Savannah, GA. Aaron was also in the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band for four years as center tenor, 2000-2003, and then percussion instructor for the next two years, 2004-2005. He was also the president of the USF Indoor Percussion Theatre 2004-2005. Aaron participated in Drum Corps International in Tampa Bay Thunder (Div. 2-3) 2000 and 2001, Kiwanis Kavaliers 2002 and the Boston Crusaders 2003 all in the tenor line. He also was a visual instructor for The Magic of Orlando drum and bugle corps in 2005. Other teaching and performance experiences include the Sunshine Brass, Roydon Music percussion instructor, Festival of Winds instructor and Florida Elementary All-State Chorus percussionist. Aaron served as Ensemble Coordinator 2014-2015 Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) Independent-A 2 time Gold Medalists and Winter Guard International (WGI) Finalist, Riptide Percussion Theater (RPT). Most recently he was the Visual Cation Head for the (WGI) Independent-A Silver Medalist, Infinity 3.
